Lisa La Valle

Lisa La Valle is an Italian American dual citizen from the New York area living in Brescia. She’s a writer, editor, and essayist known for her work in the literary and creative nonfiction space who writes about identity, culture, and personal reflection. Her work explores expatriation as a human experience.

Silvia Bertussi

Silvia is a well-travelled project coordinator and has fulfilled a number of roles in the social and development sector in Asia, Latin America and Europe. She worked for  GAR (Grupo de Alto Rendimiento) from the Ecuadorian Government, EduCARE India and VSO. Her causes revolve around youth, education, and the environment.

Educated in England and Mexico, Silvia is perfectly trilingual (Italian, English and Spanish). She is now based in Brescia teaching Italian to expatriates and foreigners who wish to perfect their Italian.

Besides work, Silvia loves to explore nice cafes and bars, read, practise yoga and documenting funny stories of her cat, Mirto. (Oh, she’s also learning Korean just for fun!)

Catherine stevenson

Catherine moved to Italy from London in 2015 and was living in the beautiful town of Iseo with her Italian husband and is now based in Verona. She used to work in Museum Education and, since arriving in Italy, has applied her teaching skills to teaching English and, more recently, teacher training.

After three years, she can communicate pretty well in Italian and has got to know the areas well. In 2018 her first son was born – have a look at her blog post on ‘Having a baby in Brescia‘!

Most of her free time is dedicated to looking after her little boys, but she enjoys cooking and reading and hopes to return to her hobbies of running and making ceramics soon!

Imelda Hertono-David

An entrepreneur, a digital marketing and brand strategist and a mom of two young boys who possess never-ending energy, Imelda is always on the move and loves to bring projects to life! Besides all that, she loves to bake, cook, play the piano and do gardening. In fact, the whole house is close to become an indoor jungle.

Italy is her sixth country of residence after Indonesia, Singapore, France, Norway and Belgium.

If you have an idea to discuss, she will be very delighted to meet up over a nice caffè.
